November Update

Hello families,
With all the learning we did on pumpkins, Mrs. Pickett and I decided it would be fun for our classes to make pumpkin pies tomorrow! We are making individual sized pies that are a no bake recipe.

Student Council is collecting canned goods for Legacy's annual food drive through Dec. 18th. If you are able, please send in canned goods with your child. The class who collects the most cans will win a pizza party! Our school is also collecting hats, mittens, scarves and gloves for children in need through December 14th.

Please send in a white, 1 or 2 inch 3 ring binder with front a clear front cover pocket for your child's Kindergarten portfolio.

There is no school the week of November 23rd for Thanksgiving break.

Halloween Party pics!

We had a great time at our class Halloween party! Thanks to everyone who contributed party goods, snacks and treats!

Kinder News:
*Students were very engaged in our pumpkin unit. We made predictions if our pumpkins would sink or float, measured them with unifix cubes, and then we counted the lines on their shells along with the seeds. In addition, we painted pictures and wrote facts about pumpkins and their life cycle. We also studied bats and students learned that they are mammals, nocturnal and use echolocation to navigate in the dark.
*On Wednesday, Nov. 4th is a Late Start day. School begins at 11:30 am.
*PLEASE help your child learn their Lexia (Core 5) Log-in & Password. Many students still can't log into Lexia on their own and as a result of this, they spend a majority of their computer time trying to log into the program. Also, it is differentiated to your child's specific literacy needs and by working on the on-line computer program at home it will help your child become more confident and proficient in their reading skills.
*Our class is in need of disinfecting wipes.
